Therapeutic Approach

Tapestry Wellness sessions bring a sense of curiosity and play, while honoring the sacredness of your journey through womanhood. I meet you where you are in each moment, allowing your intention and the wisdom of the body to be our guide. My approach, a blend of occupational therapy clinical skills, relaxing energetic bodywork, and body awareness exploration, works directly with the nervous system to relieve stress and tension. In addition, I coach you to develop the tools and confidence you need to address subtle nervous system imbalances, which are at the root of many health challenges, so you can create true, long-lasting healing.

Tapestry Wellness sessions integrate the following therapeutic approaches:

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY provides individualized support for a wide range of physical and mental health issues with a focus on improving the ability to engage in everyday activities. Upper extremity conditions such as carpal tunnel are treated by mobilizing and strengthening specific muscles and joints, and by modifying tasks that may be contributing to symptoms. Treatment plans for stress and fatigue explore ways to live a more balanced life that includes moments of relaxation and self-care. During the newborn to pre-crawling period, occupational therapists make recommendations for daily routines, positioning, and equipment needs to address challenges with sleep and feeding. This pediatric specialty also promotes healthy growth and development through play, helping infants build a solid foundation of motor, sensory, cognitive, and social skills.

SOMATIC EXPERIENCING restores balance in the nervous system to help ease physical, mental, and emotional symptoms associated with stress and trauma. The majority of this approach involves building resilience by increasing awareness of physical sensations through visual imagery, movement, dialogue, and touch. As stress and tension are relieved, memories may naturally start to surface and can be safely processed in the body without having to retell or relive history.

BIODYNAMIC CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY supports health and well-being in body, mind, and spirit by assisting the nervous system to bring itself back into balance. Instead of actively working to fix a problem, this more indirect approach involves creating a safe, sacred space that promotes deep relaxation. In the stillness, the nervous system can downshift from the fast pace of life, and reconnect with the slower rhythms that help restore the body’s natural ability to heal.

CASTELLINO PRENATAL AND BIRTH THERAPY increases awareness and understanding of the soul’s journey from pre-conception to birth, and provides the healing necessary to move beyond any stressful or traumatic experiences. This approach applies concepts from Somatic Experiencing, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, and other energetic bodywork to help process early memories, which are stored in the body as physical sensations, emotions, and movements. When gently brought to the surface in a safe, supportive environment, they can be acknowledged and integrated.

♥ MYOFASCIAL RELEASE relieves symptoms such as pain, headaches, and fatigue by correcting muscle and postural imbalances arising from stress, tension, and tightness. In this hands-on technique, gentle pressure and stretches are held long enough for the connective tissue to relax and lengthen without going back into constriction. Restrictions are also treated throughout the body, not just the painful area, in order to make long-lasting changes.
